  1. After you have set the MIDI route using the ROUTE gadget, you can use
  2. this gadget (MIDI IN PORT) when you want to try and GET sysex data from
  3. your synth.  This gadget does everything the ROUTE gadget does except
  4. bother you with the MIDI route requester.
  5.  
  6. The MIDI IN PORT gadget is only available when the CREATE DRIVER window
  7. is displaying the `GET FROM SYNTH' MIDI protocols.  Use of this gadget
  8. requires entry of a MIDI command to GET data and entry of the string
  9. gadgets found at the far right of the window (Ch Ofst, Chan Mn, Chan
  10. Mx, Size).  Patch # Mn and Mx may also be required if the command to
  11. GET data contains a "-P".
  12.  
  13. Click on the MIDI IN PORT gadget after entering the required data, and
  14. an attempt to get data from your synth will be made.  The sysex file
  15. that is received will be displayed in the `»» Work Area ««' portion
  16. of the CREATE DRIVER window.

  18. If the entered Size was too small you will not be able to view the
  19. entire file, if it was too large you will receive a message stating
  20. that the expected sysex file was not received.
